BikiniKat is a 7 foot tall gigantic pink cat who wears a bikini. Her favorite destinations are North South East West and San Fransassy, her home town. She has a habit of hiding boxes of Lemon Lumps her favorite candy in strange places, like under her hat. Her favorite thing to do is to go to the Movie Monster Monster Movie Matinee.

What Does BikiniKat Do For A Living?

BikiniKat and her friend, Miss Callithump Cone, a double scoop ice cream cone, are just about to open a store in San Fransassy called BikiniKat's Roadside Attraction that has a miniature golf course and souvenirs that BikiniKat collects on her adventures.

What Is BikiniKat Really Like?

BikiniKat almost always takes a dare, even though sometimes it gets her in trouble. She is very stubborn but also very determined, but at the same time she can get kind of sensitive. Negative Vibes, Mean People, Funny Smells and Karate Chops really get to her sometimes. But she still has exciting adventures because she never gives up.

How Come BikiniKat Never Gives Up?

BikiniKat is half daredevil/half philosopher of life. She has many strange ideas in that gigantic pink head of hers that helps her stay focused and confident to pull super trick stunts. She is a motivational thrill seeker ready to take on the next project, whether it's deflecting a Farting Turtle or jumping over the Grand Canyon.

Flower Frankenstein is half artist, half monster and part encyclopedia salesman. San Fransassy is her home base where she lives with her husband Seth and two parakeets.

How Did You Meet BikiniKat?

I used to own a store called Scairy Hairy Toys in San Fransassy that actually did have a three hole minigolf course. BikiniKat walked in one day and we've been friends ever since. Next thing I know the whole store is painted pink and I started selling the souvenirs that BikiniKat collected from her travels. That was in 1998.

Where Did The Smart Sassy Stylish Shiny Shield a Go Go Come From?

It all started with a Negative Vibe. I was working in the back of the store in my art studio - I had a silk- screening setup and a sewing machine where I made all the toys myself - and I heard two people in front talking. One guy said, "If you could rate this store from one to ten what would you rate it?" and then the other guy said, "Zero...zero...zero."

You can imagine my reaction. I knew my store was not "zero..zero..zero" because I worked so hard at it and I knew it was cool, but at the same time those words really hurt. So I had a choice either get upset and let the Negative Vibes and Farting Turtles get to me, or get busy and not let anyone get in my way.

It was at that moment I took out a pen and drew out the Smart Sassy Stylish Shiny Shield A Go GO to repel all that makes me negative. I didn't have time to let the zeros make me question myself. Their critique was not constructive so what I really needed to do was to block them out so I could focus on my goals.

Why Did You Decide To Write A Novel About BikiniKat?

After I created the Smart Sassy Stylish Shiny Shield A GO GO, I went to the copy store the next day, made zillions of copies and handed them out to every customer that came into the store. For the next two years I talked to everyone about Farting Turtles, BikiniKat's travels, the hierarchy of ice cream cones and Kiki Glitter of Hollywood, BikiniKat's sister. A story began to emerge too big for my little store so I knew I had to cram all my ideas into a book. I closed shop and that's what I've been doing ever since.

What Is That Big Balloon Your Holding In The Picture?

That's the BIG RED BALL, I take her out every once in a while when the world needs a pick-me-up. She takes up 70 cubic feet of helium and reminds me of BikiniKat's gigantic pink head.
