We dare you to explain yourself in 10 words... or less.
I am an enthusiastic maker & hunter of objects of desire: art, treasure,
conversations.
What is your SMART SASSY STYLISH goal as illustrated in BikiniKat's
Motivational Strategy for the Millennium?
Honey, make my dreams go-go. My art is my passport. I need to travel, even if
it's a local trip, work my art, bring it on home, and set up places where more
conversations can take place. Also, I want to get my art-based design business
out in the real world vs. inside my planning binder.
What kind of SASSY things do you do to achieve your STYLISHNESS?
Ask people for their input or their jewelry, because that will always get a
response and will make me laugh once a day. Exercise my humor by doing sentence
#1. Keep my lucky objects around at all times (e.g. miniature green car,
notebook, colored pens) and occasionally wear one funky colored shawl, scarf or
ring on those days that feel like Mondays.
What kind of SMARTS do you need to be SASSY in order to achieve your
STYLISHNESS?
Belief that I have all the tools (or know how to ask) to get the necessary
done. I can read all the books, articles, consultants, but in the end I trust
my compass. If the compass is stable and not whirring, then I know I'm pursuing
the right course. To keep stylish, I have to refuel myself, and I've found
myself among chaos. To relax, anything related to water, wind, air and earth is
calming. So walking along a beach, bubblebaths and window shopping at the
nursery are automatic antidotes.
What part of your personality helps you achieve your goal?
I'm hardheaded about my passions and can be set in my ways, an optimist with
pessimistic tendencies. I am curious, spontaneous and undeniably analytical. I
look like I'm backstepping while making large leaps, which is also a beautiful
description of my zodiac sign.
What part gets in your way?
I'm hardheaded about my passions! I get caught up in perfection. Fear is the
big robber of completing work and endurance.
Can you tell us a Farting Turtle story?
A favorite relative told me (and several family members) that she didn't like
all the time I was spending making art in the studio or working on art-related
projects. She thought I was a fantastic person and was stunting my social life
by spending it all inside this room. Many of the relatives couldn't wrap their
heads around the fact of my museum exhibit last summer. They just didn't get
the importance of what I have pursued, nakedly, for the past 15 years.
How did you overcome that Farting Turtle?
I kept doing my business. Strangers, folks and family are apt to have comments
about the kind or quality of my art and passion. But I'm driving the car (a
recurring metaphor for me... I love road trips.) I'm driving a car with this
unique perspective. If I divert for every disturbance, hitchhiker or shortcut,
I won't achieve my destination.
THANK YOU for spending the time to share you SMART SASSY STYLISH life with all
the BikiniKat Fan Club Members, we really appreciate it... because we like YOU!
